Mama Delaney and I had a TON of adventures in Cortland and Ithaca today! We walked to the Cortland Farmer's Market this morning, then headed over to the WATER FESTIVAL! Right as we were coming up to the Water Works, we saw all these deer! There must've been 30 of them, and there was one precious little babyyyyyy
Then I saw the teenager geese again!
And a few little babies..
The Water Festival was excellent- we learned about how certain types of animal life in water can tell you about how polluted the water is (or isn't), we played a water trivia game and won a little prize that mom's taking back to Tyler-man, we saw fish, and...
WE DID WATER TASTING!!! Hahaha it was really, really hard to tell the difference between the 5 types of water we tasted. My mom and I ended up voting for different ones as our favorites.
Then we headed over to Ithaca. We went to the Farmer's Market first and my mom LOVED IT! We had Sri Lankan food for lunch and sat outside by the Cayuga Lake to eat. SO great.
Then we toured around Cornell's campus a little. This waterfall is ON CAMPUS, how ridiculously amazing would it be to walk to class everyday and pass this view??
We went to Cornell's Lab of Ornithology (the study of birds). Mama Delaney was in HOG HEAVEN! We got to see a ton of animals, and walked around on some pretty trails (the picture below is from the trails).
Afterwards we went into a couple of stores and found all sorts of QUIRKY things that you don't typically find in Georgian grocery stores. This isle was everything from dried pineapple to coconut flour to dark chocolate covered apricots.. random random stuff that you don't actually NEED but I wanted all of it..
